Registan Square complex in Samarkand, Uzbekistan. I took the pictures in 1968 long before the restoration began. This and other pictures to follow shows the result of a earthquake that hit the area in1966 and neglect on the buildings in the Registan Square. His under graduate degree is in physics and mathematics from MIT. Masters from Harvard in earth sciences and a PhD in history of science and philosophy also from Harvard in 1958.
